Arabians came into her life about that time. She emulated her mentors well. She and her first Arabian found themselves earning ribbons at Country English and halter.
Not long after that, Dean Hennings, who also enjoys horses, came into her life. Together they have built a stable, a life and a family that revolves around Arabian horses.
Modest about her accomplishments, Lisa and her horses have earned their share of ribbons in venues big and small, from local to national Arabian shows. She continues to seek opportunities to improve her horsemanship skills and expand her showing repertoire. With a new half-Arabian Dutch Warmblood in her stable, Lisa is moving in to the sport horse world.
From English country to hunter to sport horse and dressage, Lisa has a way of getting the best each horse has to offer. It's important to her to find each horse's talents and not try to fit the proverbial square peg in to a round hole.
"It's all about the horses" she says. "Doing what they can do and enjoying." |
